We are pleased to invite you to the launch of the first SparkLab on October 17-18, in Barcelona, Spain. At the launch event, the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), the Government of Catalonia, Telecentre.org Foundation (TCF) and a number of other strategic partners will participate in the opening ceremony as well as a series of discussions and presentations on the role of SparkLab in transforming telecentres from public access points to a global network of entrepreneurship and innovation hubs for socio-economic development. During Spark13, the Global Forum on Telecentres held in Granada, Spain, in May 2013, representatives from the Government of Catalonia and the City of Barcelona announced their commitment to host the first SparkLab. This complemented a partnership between TCF and the ITU launched at the Connect Americas Summit in 2012 entitled “Telecentre of the Future.” These initiatives have come together to make SparkLab a unique concept with a compelling vision of the future of telecentres.
We would be honored to have you as a guest and participant in the SparkLab launch event. You will have the opportunity to meet and discuss this initiative with prominent leaders from the information and communication technology sector, including mobile products and services, as well as representatives from local government, international cooperation agencies, and the telecentre movement.
We are very pleased that the Government of Catalonia and the City of Barcelona have decided to host the first SparkLab and we are convinced that the knowledge and expertise of Catalonia’s Knowledge Society Office, the support of the City of Barcelona ICT program, along with its international ICT and mobile partners, will make a significant contribution to the expansion of the SparkLab model.
We are also confident that <name of the company or organization> has a great deal to contribute to SparkLab, with the goal of reaching an even greater number of people to enable new opportunities and development for all.
